Moi? Okay, I’ll tell you about me

Hi guys! I’m Neha (if you didn’t get that from the blog name :D). I’m a twenty something girl trying to figure out my way through life, and I try to have a good time while I’m at it.

I love to cook and make stuff. I’m the happiest when I see something I like and I can recreate or imitate the same thing for a fraction of the price. As those close to me know, one thing I exclaim often is- “Guess how much I got this for?? Only…..!!! “, or “This thing costs (enter exorbitant price), but I made it for only (enter a small price)!!”.  So this blog is going to be about my adventures and experiments in the kitchen, DIY, artsy stuff and life. I called this Neha’s Lab because:

*I love Dexter’s Laboratory. And Dr.Heinz Doofenshmirtz Lab of Evil ( hi-five if you know what I’m talking about!)

*Almost all the nicest blog names are taken and I thought this wouldn’t be 😉

*Lab because this blog is all about experiments

So, let’s experiment, but more importantly, have fun!!

  1. Really nice page u got there… Just one question.. If m noy wrong fondant is made using corn syrup right.. What if I cant find it? Any alternative? Coz I just love baking.. And have to work on fondant…

    1. Hi Akshay 🙂 Thanks. Honestly, I don’t know much about fondants. I wanted to make some too, but as you know, corn syrup is hard to find or very expensive in India. Some suggest using liquid glucose, as this too will prevent the sugar from crystallizing and the fondant from cracking. However, I couldn’t find that either. I’ll try some recipes, then I’ll see what works out and let you know. Meanwhile, how about using marzipan? It tastes much better than fondant. And it’s great that you love baking! This blog is predominantly dessert and baking oriented, so keep checking for more recipes. Have fun experimenting 🙂
